MERCURIAL VAPOR VIII – VIDEO: INSIDE THE DESIGN

Ever wondered what goes into the design of a top football boot like the Mercurial Vapor VIII? We find out as we go one-on-one with Nike’s Andy Caine.

As one of Nike’s most experienced global design team members, we’ve chatted to Andy on a few occasions – including at the launch of the Superfly II and the CR7 Superfly III – and he’s always given us some great behind-the-scenes access to how Nike develop their most popular football boots.

Now, he’s back again to talk us through what Nike aimed for in their design, the feedback that Cristiano gave them during development and just about anything else a fan of the new Vapor VIII could want!

So, if you were wondering why Nike went for just two studs in the rear of their new Mercurial, or what the story is behind the distinctive ‘Mango’ colour – there’s only one video you should watch!
