After revealing a total of seven new Nike football boot colourways across Thursday and Friday last week, we knew that this weekend meant they were going to be unmissable – and we were lucky enough to see six of them see some sort of action.
Mario Balotelli – Nike CTR360 II – Dark Shadow / Volt
Balotelli was one of the select few who opted for the menacing new CTR’s. Whilst not on the feet of many pro’s yet, we imagine that they’ll be hot with fans as thousands of you checked them out on here over the weekend.
Wayne Rooney & Danny Welbeck – Nike T90 Laser IV – Dark Grey / Solar Red
Danny Welbeck’s switch from the Tiempo Legend IV Elite made Machester United’s strike force an all-Laser affair, with both players opting for the new synthetic version, rather than the Kangalite model.
Marcelo & Jesus Navas – Nike Superfly III – Metallic Purple
Whilst there are plenty of other players who were wearing this colourway over the weekend, we opted for this picture from Real Madrid’s last game of 2011.
Why? Seasoned boot-spotters will be able to detect that Marcelo is actually wearing a disguised pair of Mercurial Vapor VIII’s (much like team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo)' and this photo gives us a great opportunity to see the difference in the soleplates.
Alex Song – Nike CTR360 II – Loyal Blue
One of many players who switched up to the Loyal Blue CTR’s, Arsenal midfielder Song put in an excellent shift against top-of-the-table Manchester City – even if Arsenal did lose the match 1-0.
Ashley Cole – Nike Tiempo Legend IV – White / Metallic Red.
Whilst not a great match for any of the Chelsea kits, Ashley Cole was one of the first to give the new Tiempo colourway an outing as Chelsea faced Wigan on Saturday.
Maicon – Nike T90 Laser IV – Challenge Red / White / Black
Footy-Boots.com Facebook amigo DDChile clocked Brazilian Maicon wearing the Kangalite version of the Laser IV earlier in the week; disappointingly, the Inter Milan man left his new football boots in the locker room as his side took on AC Cesena. Probably for the best given their more-than-passing resemblance to the kit of arch-rivals AC Milan.
And Finally… Jermaine Pennant – Nike CR7 Superfly III
Not a new-new colourway, but too gooder spot to leave out! Stoke wide-man Jermaine Pennant has ditched his Red adiPure IV’s for something at the opposite end of the football boots-design school as he took on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Cristiano Ronaldo’s bespoke colourway.
Any other spots you can share with us?
