The level down from the adiPure IV, the adiCore IV offers much of the same technology as the adiPure IV but at £64.99/$89.99 it’s nearly half the price!
But is it worth your cash? adidas would argue so, as they seem very confident that the adiCore IV is capable of competing with some of the top football boots on the market thanks to it’s choice in material and exceptional construction.
First off is the upper which, like it’s cousin the adiNova IV, doesn’t use expensive K-Leather in it’s construction; instead opting for a full-grain calf leather for durability and a decent enough touch.
One thing that does transfer across from the upper of the adiPure IV is the new symmetrical stitching pattern – which doesn’t sound like much, but this ensures that players get the same redesigned toe-box with a shorter vamp for a better first touch and feel on the ball.
The adiCore IV is no slouch in the comfort and durability department either. EVA cushioning in the sockliner and collar mean that the adiCore is a well padded boot, both for comfort and protection against impact.
Couple that with an internal heel counter and stabiliser and the adiCore IV is a pair of football boots that really looks after your feet.
Interestingly, the adiCore IV is built on the same last as it’s predecessor, the adiCore III. adidas say that this provides a consistent fit between models to minimise breaking-in time for fans of the range.
Finally, the sole plate is the same lightweight TPU that makes the adiPure IV the lightest adiPure yet, with the adiCore IV tipping the scales at around 275g per boot.
Along with that, the SG version of the boot gets an 8 aluminium-tipped stud configuration that distributes weight fantastically on muddy pitches.

i’ve always felt that if you’re in the market for some “lesser” boots then heritage styled boots with leather uppers are often the best way to go (with the exception of the CTR which i feel has excellent “lesser” models)
This is because synthetic is more expensive to manufacture than leather and why you will get better quality for your money with a leather boot
