Looking at the table, it’s not hard to see that Arsenal are more than a little off the pace from some of their biggest rivals. But if there’s one area where the Gunners are confident they can overtake their rivals, it’s with a killer new shirt sponsorship deal.

The North London club are currently searching out interest in prospective new sponsors, and are confident that they can look forward to a new sponsor for the famous Arsenal shirt that will pay the club somewhere in the region of £25m per season for the privilege of association with the Gunners.
The deal would topple the relatively-new deals signed recently by Liverpool (Standard Chartered) and Manchester United (Aon) which are both worth around £20m per-season over 4 years, and would hopefully help Arsenal close the gap in commercial revenue, which has become somewhat stagnant.
Arsenal’s current shirt sponsorship deal with Emirates is set to expire in 2014, and is currently worth somewhere in the region of £5.5m a year, though the airline did ‘frontload’ the deal with enough money to build the Emirates stadium.
Thanks to the savvy transfer activity (that some would argue has already cost the Gunners the title already this season) Arsenal posted up £14.8m pre-tax profits two weeks ago, and the prospect of an additional £20m per year from a shirt sponsor would certainly make most of the Emirates Stadium faithful very happy indeed.
