REAL MADRID HOME KIT

Real Madrid are a club steeped in almost inconceivable history and ambition, which is the inspiration behind the regal ‘gold’ look of the new Real Madrid Home kit by adidas for the 2011-12 season.

Los Merengues will be hoping that the gold elements on the new Real Madrid Home kit will be a foreshadowing of winners medals in the player’s trophy cabinets after denying Barcelona a treble last season and securing the Copa del Rey (Well, maybe ‘securing’ is the wrong word, eh, Sergio?).

However, it will be no easy feat overthrowing the might of Barcelona – but that’s exactly what Mourinho’s men will have to accomplish to assure La Liga and Champions League gold this season.

As for the design of the shirt – for the first time in a few seasons a classic polo collar returns to the Real Madrid Home kit, with a seam that extends down the chest to give the look of a traditional polo.

For better or for worse, the Real Madrid crest will no longer be embroidered above the heart'  -'  instead a heat-transferring process is used to improve comfort and reduce weight.

All adidas branding is gold on the Real Madrid Home kit, including the famous three stripes on the sleeves and, interestingly, piping used to highlight the under-arm ventilation.

Whilst there’s no doubt that gold is a colour that Real Madrid can pull off, we can’t help but wonder whether the complete lack of Purple (or indeed blue) will upset some fans, it is the King’s Colour after all!

As for the tech specs:

The player-issue Real Madrid Home kit features the adidas TechFit technology which will help improve speed, increased endurance capabilities and enhanced awareness. This works by stabilising and focusing the muscles˘€žË˜ energy to generate explosive acceleration and deliver maximum power output.

The replica Real Madrid Home kit incorporates adidas Climacool technology, a mixture of heat and moisture controlling materials, ventilation channels and 3D fabrics which improve air flow to the skin in the key heat zones.
