REVEALED: UMBRO ENGLAND HOME SHIRT FOR EURO 2012

After a huge teaser campaign at the earlier this month, Umbro have allowed a whole nation the chance to stop holding it’s breath a week early as they reveal the England Home Shirt that will be worn at Euro 2012.

To be worn for the very first time when the England Senior team take on Holland at Wembley in a Friendly on Wednesday the 29th of February 2011, the 2012 England Home Shirt is – as described by Umbro – the epitome of Englishness.

Styled after the only two colours on the St. George’s flag, the Umbro England Home Shirt appears in solely white and red for the first time ever.

The iconic Three Lions have a stylistic shift away from their traditional blue to a tonal red, that ties in to the theme of the shirt – accompanied by the classic Umbro Diamond in the same vermillion.

Styled after classic tailored dress shirts, the England Home Shirt for Euro 2012 is crafted from a cotton/polyester blended material, which offers terrific comfort, movement and fit. The shirt also features front body darting and a lowered back hem, giving fans and players a better fit and a smarter look, and the sleeves are an elastine that allows players to roll them up should they wish.

Far from straying into Dullsville, though, the new England Home Shirt is defined by it’s attention to detail.

A single-button, placket collar is like nothing else on the market, inspiring a tailored aesthetic that is very easy on the eye.

With the collar down, players and fans will have a subtle dash of red along the top, recalling the flag of England’s patron saint. Under the collar, a more detailed stripe is revealed, inspired by Sir Alf Ramsey’s iconic 1966 jacket and the St George’s flag.

On sale from February 29th, backing England in style will set you back £49.99 / $79.99 from the Footy-Boots.com store and for more information, head to Umbro.com.

Nice and simple style, the red and white works well.

i know simple works as its classy but common umbro when is the last time they made something a bit modern or audacious. Its true simple kits are classy as they stand out for not standing out but if all umro kits are like that than thats just plain borrrrinnnnnng. I do like the kit but i am very annoyed. Its becoming like a retro brand. Soon enough bo one will by any umbro boot but the speciali,

Effortless…and I like that. Since when did England need to be snazzy? Look at the efforts of Nike for brazil last year. No one liked that. The red keepers shirt/kit might stand out a bit though!

It looks like a T-Shirt. I think it is time the England jersey went to a different sponsor. Umbro are boring with the same ‘old-school’ design. Why not look at some of the stuff Nike is doing with France and Netherlands?
