Under Armour are back in the game with their new HydraStrike Pro football boots!
After a respectable first outing with the Dominate Pro & Create Pro, the American brand are up and running again with a whole new generation of top-level football boots.
The first to be revealed is the bold new Under Armour HydraStrike Pro, in Black/White/Blaze Orange.
Something of a spiritual successor to the Dominate Pro, the Under Armour HydraStrike Pro continues the Dominate’s modus operandi of marrying a more classically-designed cleat with a host of new technologies.
Rather than boasting power or accuracy-enhancing add-ons of other football boots, the technology on the Under Armour HydraStrike Pro is geared towards player comfort and keeping you on the pitch for as long as possible; a noble goal if ever there was one!
Starting with the upper, the Under Armour HydraStrike Pro features a two-part upper comprised of K-Leather towards the toe, and synthetic around the heel and midfoot – a design many will recognise as markedly similar to the Leather adidas F50 adiZero!
The K-leather forefoot features a unique quilted style of stitching that allows the boot to flex and bend exactly where the toes need it, giving great comfort and manoeuvrability.
That’s not all the K-Leather has going for it, either; the whole upper has undergone Under Armour’s signature H20i treatment process, giving the boot an unprecedented level of waterproofing.
As for the rest of the upper, Under Armour have developed a lightweight, perforated Microfibre to encompass the midfoot and heel. The result is a surprisingly light, breathable pair of football boots, that still deliver great touch where your feet need it most.
The midsole incorporates a second-generation ArmourGuide chassis, that’s designed to keep your feet stable and comfortable, whilst maintaining the best anatomical positioning for the bones in your feet to take pressure away from the metatarsal.
Atop the ArmourGuide sits a new ‘Formulate’ footbed. Building on the success of the ArmourFoam on the Dominate Pro, Under Armour have brought the Formulate insole to the Under Armour HydraStrike Pro across from their American football cleats; the result is a lightweight, cushioned ride for your feet with antibacterial agents to reduce odour.
Set to land in later this summer, the new Under Armour HydraStrike Pro will head the latest generation of Under Armour football boots.
Available in FG & SG, the Under Armour HydraStrike Pro is expected to retail at around £130.
Personally, we think Under Armour have a lot going for them, and it seems their reputation of high-comfort, high-quality football boots is in safe hands with the new Under Armour HydraStrike Pro – but we can’t wait to see what else they come up with!

I liked the mix between studs and blades!
the front area looks real nice and puffy and comfy, although it looks like it could rip open like a pillow if someones blades ran across them..
how much do they weigh?
look promising. i think the stud/blade combination is good and the k leather is at the right places =)
The transition from k-leather to synthetic is much too sharp and abrupt and emphasized by the colours.
Apart from that the boot seems based on good ideas, though not any ingenious or innovative ones. It’s like they just looked at the adizero and umbro speciali and saw that the mix of leather and synthetic creates great touch and less weight….then did the same thing. But then the stud configuration, the water repelling features etc are all very promising.
I look forward to seeing how they stack up in comfort.

Does not look like it improves over the similar Nike Tiempo Legends.

i’m liking the stud configuration on these as that was one of the few issues i had with the first release. Also i’d like to point out at that the insoles in the Dominate Pro were absolutely magnificent and resulted in the most cushion footbed i’ve ever used
this part look like that boot, that part look like the other boot… i’m just gonna add to those comments 😀
IMHO the studs configuration are pretty similar to mizunos. just compare the front section of the soleplate to morelia, and rear section to wave ignitus -the surface of them heel studs even have those little spiky elements like in wave ignitus, very visible in last pic.
anyway, i always like new boots with new approach like this one. didn’t see anything really new with CTRII and superflyIII, seems that predator XI wouldn’t have anything ground-breakingly new either. definitely looking forward to some playtest.

not an under armour fan at all, but these look like they would feel great to play in..
The ua dominate pro were amazing. One of the most comfortable I have owned. I hope the hydra strikde meet or exceed the dominate pros
